I have been married to a wonderful woman for the past 23 years. I am forever grateful to God for bringing Margaret into my life. We were married May 2, 1987. I don't know why she keeps me but I'm glad she does.
I have one son, Matthew who I am very proud of. He and Amanda are raising my 6 grandchildren. I love them all and enjoy being with them.
Margaret and I currently live in Moore, South Carolina and really enjoy sharing our home with our 2 Golden Retrievers, Jackson and Jefferson.
We moved back to South Carolina after being away for almost 20 years. We lived in the Atlanta area for nearly 5 years followed by 14 years in the Northern Virginia suburbs of Washington DC. We count ourselves blessed to have great friends in Northern Virginia where we lived so long and it was difficult leaving all those friends. However, God called us back to South Carolina to be near family to help aging parents and to be near our grandchildren. Shortly before we moved back our infant grandson, Jacob Rambish, went home to be with the Lord. It was heart breaking to be so far away during his illness so being back home in South Carolina has been a great blessing.
I love to play golf (not very good at it) and softball. I also enjoy "throwing" pottery on our wheels and firing and glazing it in our kiln. However, since we moved we don't really have a place to set up our wheels and kiln so for the time being Margaret and I have been forced to take a break from pottery. This is a hobby that Margaret taught me and I'm very thankful to her for teaching me how to "throw" pottery on a wheel. I enjoy Bible study and participate in various studies both at my church and at Bible Study Fellowship.
There are many verses in the Bible that mean a lot to me but one in particular that I love is:
Philippians 3:12 "Not that I have already obtained all this, or have already been made perfect, but I press on to take hold of that for which Christ Jesus took hold of me."
There are many people outside of my family to whom I owe a great deal. Since my Christian faith is very important to me I want to express my thanks and deep gratitude to those that have taught me so much about God and my savior Jesus Christ. It's impossible to thank everybody but I am especially grateful to Pastor Stuart Latimer, Pastor Dave Silvernail and Pastor Richard Thomas who are excellent teachers and have each taught me a tremendous amount. I also want to thank some of the men that have taught me by example. Men like Mark Rist, Frank Pugh, E.C. Burnett and Todd Traylor live their lives by their faith!
